the. coat. - moss & matrix - wearable art & custom commissions
this coat started because winter is cold, and standard clothes rarely do what they are supposed to do. i never learned how to sew professionally—i just create pieces out of necessity, mixing instinct with a wild, intuitive style. the result? a coat that is a companion. now i look forward to winter cuz i know there’s a patch of moss keeping me warm. a piece of forest green peace in a winter's grey city.
i never thought people could be interested in buying it until i was repeatedly asked on the streets where i got it from. i like sewing, i like talking about fabrics, and i love getting to know people's needs and wants. i love when people start to see their clothes as companions in everyday life, and i want it to be affordable. so i thought pourquoipas make clothes for others?
that’s why i take commissions where we talk about design, practicality, usage, and budget. it represents the exact philosophy behind my work: high practicality meets uncompromising aesth
i am officially opening space for custom garment commissions!
whether you want a friend for frosty times, practical but stylish festival wear, or a shapeshifting statement piece, i build clothes directly onto the body. everything is custom-made to fit your exact silhouette, your daily life, and your specific needs.
the approach: zero conventional rules, high functional design. a little wildness is always welcome.
the process: we talk about your life. what do you want and what do you want it for? you want pockets on it? how many? you are usually cold on your arms but not your legs? got it…
the result: a piece you really like. something you look forward to wearing, again and again.
i like to mix and match. i want you to get as much out of it as you can, so usually i make pieces you can assemble. just like the dress i made (where the skirt, top, and scarf can be mixed into everyday casual wear or up-styled for elegance), the coat system relies on transformation:
the coat
engineered with warm lining through the entire body, arms, pockets, and headpiece—keeping you completely warm while maintaining a sharp, structured silhouette.
2. the collar
an oversized, structure-shifting design that can be laid flat or stood completely upright for a dramatic, avant-garde look.
3. the belt
functions as a waist-cincher, a classic tie, or can be detached entirely and worn as a matching scarf.
4. the headpiece:
an original concept—a hybrid hood and scarf combination that flows all the way down to the hem of the coat, allowing for extreme styling experimentation.
